Buttock Lift (Gluteal Augmentation)
There are several techniques for lifting and firming the buttocks. Fat injection, implants or filler injections may be used during the procedure. In patients with volume loss, a natural implant created from the patient’s own body tissue can also be used. Fat is usually taken from the hips and transferred to the buttocks.
Buttock lift surgery can be performed under local or general anaesthesia, and the operation takes about 2 hours.
In procedures involving an incision, the buttocks are surgically lifted and a flap prepared from the patient’s own tissue is used, acting as a natural implant. This method is mainly used in older patients.
After Buttock Lift Surgery
After buttock lift surgery (gluteal augmentation), the patient wears a special compression garment for 2 weeks. Patients can return to normal life within 3–4 days of the operation.
In very slim patients, the preferred technique is usually to place implants, similar to those used to enlarge other areas such as the breasts and calves but designed for the buttocks, into the gluteal area through a small incision. No noticeable scar remains after this procedure. Performed under general anaesthesia, this operation takes around 4 hours on average, and patients can return to normal life within 5–6 days.
The long-term result can only be affected by significant weight gain or loss. When the procedure is performed with fat injection, there is no incision scar.
